Seo’s Martial Arts Academy Makes History at 2025 Kukkiwon Hanmadang!
ARVADA, CO – July 31, 2025
Seo’s Martial Arts Academy proudly traveled to Anaheim, California, to compete in the 2025 World Taekwondo Kukkiwon Hanmadang, held from July 17–19. This event marked only the second time in Kukkiwon history that the prestigious Hanmadang tournament was hosted in the United States.
Under the direct coaching of Grandmaster J. Seo, a dedicated team of 23 competitors represented the academy. The team ranged in age from 10 to 56 years old and in rank from Brown Belt to 4th Degree Black Belt, showcasing the depth and diversity of Seo’s martial arts community.
The team competed in multiple categories with outstanding results:
Individual Power Breaking: 23 medals
Individual Creative Forms: 23 medals
Demonstration Teams: All three teams, each composed of four competitors, medaled in their divisions
The highlight of the event was the Black Belt All-Ages Form Team - which claimed the championship title with a high-flying, acrobatic performance that combined synchronized techniques with power and precision.
At the conclusion of the tournament, Seo’s Martial Arts Academy was recognized with a Kukkiwon record— the team with the most wins in the history of the World Hanmadang competition. This historic achievement was made possible by the unwavering leadership of Grandmaster Seo and the tireless support of the academy’s Master Instructors and community.
